Both Drs. Shy and Scherer are on the CMTA’s Scientific Advisory Board and Board of Directors. Dr. Shy is the Co-Director of the multi-disciplinary CMT clinic at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City. Dr. Scherer is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania where he too directs a CMT Center of Excellence.

Both Drs. Shy and Scherer are on the cutting edge of CMT research via the CMTA’s STAR initiative.

Dr. Rup Tandan is a neurologist in Burlington, Vermont and is affiliated with Fletcher Allen Health Care. He is our local CMT expert, the only one for miles around!
