Is this a cycling race?

This is not a cycling race. The cycling portion of the event is a rolling start and an opportunity to experience the beauty of Lake Champlain and the surrounding Green and Adirondack mountains.


Do I need to cycle or walk to attend the event?

You do not need to cycle or walk to participate in this event. You can register and enjoy the fantastic event party which runs from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. If you are not cycling or walking, we do encourage a donation to support the cause.


Will there be rest stops consisting of water, restrooms and food?

As a result of the route distances (6.5 – 41 miles) rest stops will not be provided. Food (cereal bars, granola, bagels, trail mix, etc.), water and restrooms are provided at the start and finish of the ride located at the Old Lantern. There are stores along the 25 (Spears’ Corner Store) and 41 mile (Lantman’s Market) routes.  Please check stores hours prior to your ride.

It is strongly encouraged that you take 2 full water bottles and food on your ride.

While each course will be marked, it is encouraged that you download your route to a Garmin device,  MapMyRide or Ride with GPS for on route navigation.


How much time should I plan for my ride?

The average cyclists travel at 15 miles per hour. Anticipate the following times (allowing for stops). All times are approximate:
6.5 mile: 30 – 45 min; 15 mile: 60 – 75 min; 25 mile: 90 – 135 min; 41 mile: 2.5 – 3 hrs
Is bike support provided at the event? Yes, a rider support van provided by The Ski Rack will be available on site.


What time can I conduct my ride?

All rides can be conducted between 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.


Are there specific requirements for riding?

Any bicycle can be used. Helmets are required and we encourage every rider to read the VT bicycle laws provided by the Green Mountain Bicycle Club.

What time does the after party start?

The party runs from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.


Can I register the day of the event?

We would encourage everyone to register prior to the event so we may account for the number of attendees as well as the quantity of food and drink.

What are the fundraising requirements?

A minimum of $225 per rider/walker to be eligible for SWAG.


What are the details of the event party and who can attend?

All registrants can attend the event party (Cyclists and Non-Cyclists). The event party is one of the best parties offered by any cycling event – registration includes live music, incredible food, local VT beer, fantastic silent auction items from skis, snowboards, clothing, gift certificates for hotels, restaurants, and ski tickets, etc. and the opportunity to learn about CMT while mingling with friends.
